Awww...it's Las Quatros Milpas that you long for. Located underneath the Coronado Bridge, this 40 year old establishment is the only reason Gringos venture into Barrio Logan. Only open till 3 pm (cuts down on cross-fire incidents), white collared professionals and bums alike line up outside starting at 10 am. Once inside the aroma of stewing beans with chorizo, fresh tortillas with lard, carnitas with fresh onion and cilantro, and salsa with pig skin quickly remind you that this is a food oasis within a doggy-dogg world. The metal chairs, cafteria style trays, and unfinished flooring serve to highlight your primary reason for visiting...the food jackass. But beware, such delicious food is sure to require a siesta lasting at least two hours. Prepare accordingly.
